All traders are required to follow strict prevention measures.

The start of the deconfinement was very timid on Sunday in Algiers, the number of shops authorized to reopen in the capital being limited.

The second phase of the deconfinement plan, to begin on June 14, will cover other activities such as taxi travel and catering.

Partial containment until June 13

At the end of May, the government extended partial home confinement until June 13 in 44 of the 48 wilayas (prefectures) in Algeria and completely lifted it in the four other prefectures, including three in the extreme desert south of the country. .

Containment measures resulted in a curfew from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. in the 16 most affected wilayas, including Algiers and Oran, and from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. in the others.

The closure of schools and universities, stadiums, mosques and village halls remains in effect.

Since March 19, the authorities have prohibited regroupings and suspended all means of public and private public transport within cities and between provinces, as well as rail traffic.

The wearing of a sanitary mask has been compulsory since May 24 and offenders are sentenced to heavy fines.

10,154 cases, 707 deaths

According to the latest report from the Scientific Committee for Monitoring the Evolution of the Pandemic, published on Sunday, 10,154 cases of contamination have been officially recorded in Algeria, including 707 deaths, since the registration of the first case on February 25.
