Coronavirus. Shopping mall – new trade restrictions from November 7, 2020

From Saturday, only some stores will be open in shopping malls. Moreover, new quota of people will apply in smaller institutions – this is the result of the draft regulation of the Council of Ministers.

The draft ordinance of the Council of Ministers amending the ordinance on the establishment of certain restrictions, orders and bans in connection with the outbreak of the epidemic has been consulted. According to the announcement of the Ministry of Health, comments on the draft may be sent to the ministry by 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Shops in shopping malls

According to the project, from this Saturday, on November 7, there will be restrictions on the operation of shopping malls with an area of ​​more than 2,000 square meters.

The provisions that have been consulted show that, inter alia, shoe, clothing and electronics / household appliances stores. The restriction is also to apply to the conduct of retail trade and service activities on trade islands. Due to the new restrictions, cinemas will cease to operate, including those in shopping malls. The new restrictions are to apply at least until November 29.

However, there are exceptions. As we read in the draft, despite the restrictions, stores are to remain open, where the main activity is the sale of food, cosmetic products, toilet products, cleaning products, medicinal products, newspapers or books, furniture, construction or renovation products, articles for pets, telecommunications services, parts and accessories for motor vehicles or motorcycles, fuels.

Service points will also be able to operate in the galleries, e.g. hairdressers, opticians, banking, post office, insurance, as well as car or motorcycle repair, tire and inner tube replacement; car washes, locksmiths, shoemakers, tailors, laundry and gastronomic facilities offering only take-away food.

People limit

In addition, the limit of people in shops and post offices will change.

According to the project, from Saturday no more than one person per 10 square meters will be allowed to stay in commercial facilities and outlets as well as postal services at the same time – in the case of facilities and outlets with an area of ​​up to 100 square meters intended for sale or provision of services. In facilities over 100 square meters, the limit will remain – one person per 15 square meters.

Please note that in commercial facilities it is mandatory to wear gloves or to disinfect your hands and cover your mouth and nose.
