Aid has arrived in New York during the Corona crisis.
The US Navy hospital ship “Comfort” arrived in New York Harbor on Monday. With 1000 additional beds, the ship is supposed to relieve the city’s hospitals Covid-19 cases.
In addition, an evangelical aid organization is providing a tented hospital with 68 beds in Central Park in Manhattan. Further temporary hospitals are to be built in convention centers and halls. But experts fear that even these measures might not be enough.
Because the state’s health system threatens to collapse due to the rapid spread of the virus. The hospitals are at their limit and the number of infected people continues to rise: over 67,000 people have contracted Covid19, and more than 1,300 have already died from it. And experts do not expect the peak of the crisis for two to three weeks.
Governor Andrew Cuomo asked other states for help:

“As the governor of New York, I ask everyone who works in the health sector: If the crisis has not yet reached your community, please come to New York and help us. We need relief.”
To thank the people who are doing important work these days, New Yorkers clapped from their windows and balconies. Everyone who doesn’t necessarily have to go outside is encouraged to stay at home.
The USA is now the country with the most corona infected people worldwide. More than 164,000 cases are known to date.
