Both Sinopharm, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca vaccines must be given in two doses to vaccinate a person against COVID-19.
The vaccination process in Peru began on February 9, 2021, in the main health centers of Lima and Callao. A digital tool implemented by Minsa allows access to information on the progress of the application of the dose. New vaccination plan
The government has established that a new COVID-19 vaccination plan will begin on April 16, 2021, with the goal of vaccinating the elderly first.
To do this, the Executive has implemented the Pongo el Hombro platform, so that people can find out the place, date and time they will be vaccinated against the coronavirus (COVID-19).
From 25 September 2022 children under the age of 5 are vaccinated (from 6 months to 4 years with 11 months and over). For this population group, inoculation was carried out in the regions starting from Monday 26 September.
To date, the third dose is given to people aged 12 years or older. The fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is also applied to people over the age of 18.
