Coronavirus Peru | COVID-19: over 26 million 822 thousand Peruvians have already been vaccinated against the coronavirus | RMN | LIME

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that as of Saturday, October 8, the number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 with at least one dose amounted to 26,822,927. Meanwhile, the total number of citizens vaccinated with two doses is 25,732,519 until 7:00 am.

Likewise, the number of citizens who have received the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine stands at 20,776,862. While with the fourth dose 5,207,999 inoculated people are reported.

So far, Peru has received more than 26 million vaccines from Sinopharm, more than 49 million from Pfizer, more than 10 million from AstraZeneca and more than four million from Moderna. All of these are applied according to the age group schedule established by the Government after prioritizing health personnel, the elderly and members of the National Police, the Armed Forces and the Fire Brigade.

Both Sinopharm, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca vaccines must be given in two doses to vaccinate a person against COVID-19.

The vaccination process in Peru began on February 9, 2021, in the main health centers of Lima and Callao. A digital tool implemented by Minsa allows access to information on the progress of the application of the dose. You just have to click HERE to control the number of people vaccinated with both doses or with only one.

New vaccination plan

The government has established that a new COVID-19 vaccination plan will begin on April 16, 2021, with the goal of vaccinating the elderly first.

To do this, the Executive has implemented the Pongo el Hombro platform, so that people can find out the place, date and time they will be vaccinated against the coronavirus (COVID-19).

From 25 September 2022 children under the age of 5 are vaccinated (from 6 months to 4 years with 11 months and over). For this population group, inoculation was carried out in the regions starting from Monday 26 September.

To date, the third dose is given to people aged 12 years or older. The fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is also applied to people over the age of 18.
