Coronavirus patient offers resuscitation consumables to Fann hospital

Dakar, June 4 (APS) – The university hospital of Fann on Friday received from a patient cured of Covid-19 medical equipment costing 15 million CFA francs intended for the intensive care unit of the Treatment Center for epidemics (CTE), found the APS.

“These are resuscitation consumables that we took the time to look for with our benefactor on the basis of our expression of needs,” explained the Director of Fann Hospital Dr Cheikh Tacko Diop.

The Director of the hospital who held to organize a symbolic handing-over ceremony wants through “ this spontaneous gesture of a citizen also inspire other benefactors who perhaps have the means to do it and do not think about it. to support the actions of the State at the level of the epidemic treatment centers ”.

“This gesture will inspire a lot of Senegalese who will come to the rescue of this hospital but also others because the state cannot do everything,” he said.

For Dr Chaikh Tacko Diop, hospitals have received a backlash with Covid-19 since in terms of expected revenue there are some small difficulties.

Taking into account the situation at the end of 2021, the administrative services of the Fann Hospital realized that in terms of revenue forecasts, there is a net loss of billions of CFA Francs.

“This is why this gesture is capital and must be an example for all those who can do it,” he said.

The CTE has seen a fairly significant drop in cases but in recent days there has been an exponential increase in the number, said the hospital official.

Also, he calls on the populations to arm themselves more while respecting barrier gestures, and to do everything to be vaccinated.

The benefactor, Omar Baba Bâ, Electrical engineer, in his sixties considers his gesture as “a civic duty”.

Hospitalized throughout the month of January 2021, including ten days in intensive care, he saw “under what conditions the valiant agents of the medical profession strove to take care of the sick”.

This is why he insisted on making this donation to participate in the “fight led by doctors in the service of the populations”.
