Rapper Orelsan has auctioned 5 diamond, gold and platinum discs to raise funds for hospitals, in the context of a coronavirus health crisis.

The idea came from another rapper. Orelsan agreed to imitate him without much hesitation. The artist from Alençon (Orne) and who spent the end of his adolescence and his student years at Caen (Calvados), announced Thursday April 23, 2020 in the early afternoon that it has decided to auction its gold records for support hospitals in the midst of a coronavirus epidemic.
I found Jul’s initiative to auction gold and platinum records for hospitals very cool, the artist said in a post on social media. So I followed and put mine too.
Auctions available online
The auctions are available on the specialized site Drouot Digital. Five Orelsan discs are thus available until Monday, April 27, 2020 at 8 p.m .:
- Diamond disc for the album “La fête est fini” released in 2017
- Gold record awarded for the first album of flow-breakers released in 2013
- Platinum disc for the album “Lost in advance” released in 2009
- Platinum disc for the music for his film “Comment c’est loin” released in 2015
- Double platinum disc for the album “the song of the sirens” released in 2011
“The fruit of this auction will help the Fondation des Hôpitaux de France,” said the organizers of this operation, called “Solidarity artists”, launched by Jul. It is expected that the funds raised will feed the Emergency aid fund launched as part of the Covid-19 health crisis hitting the planet.
The money must allow in particular to pay for the delivery of meals for nursing staff, medical equipment and digital tablets to fight against the isolation of vulnerable people in hospital such as the elderly and hospitalized children who cannot receive visits.
Already 11.550 € in a few hours
Barely launched, the auctions have started well. These five lots represented a cumulative gain of € 11,550 at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2020, after only a few hours of sale.
It must be said that Orelsan’s only social networks are likely to move online shoppers. The tweet announcing this unprecedented sale accumulated 1,800 retweets in two hours, and the message was “liked” 150,000 in three hours on Instagram.
