Nuevo León reported this Sunday 74 additional cases of contagion, 9 deaths and 313 patients hospitalized for covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

That is, the 74 infections this Sunday represents half of those registered yesterday, which was 142 cases in the State.

In the traditional virtual press conference, the State Secretary of Health revealed the daily update figures of the pandemic in the state, by reporting a total of 173 thousand 934 cases and 10 thousand 495 deaths.

Consuelo Treviño Garza, Undersecretary for Disease Prevention and Control, reported that of the 313 patients hospitalized in state hospitals, 87 of them are kept alive through the support of a mechanical ventilator, which are practically the most serious cases of health.

The official reported that 99 percent have already recovered 161 thousand 781 and one percent, which corresponds to 1,658, are infected with active or in the process of recovery.

A 51 percent of the contagions counted are in the male population and 49 percent are women.

The State Secretariat of Health indicated that the epidemic by covid-19 continues to be concentrated in the metropolitan area and 19 percent of patients are taking their treatment in a hospital and 81 percent are ambulatory, that is, at home.

“We continue to invite recovered patients to donate plasma in order to support those who are currently hospitalized and who, according to medical criteria and require the support of plasma, from recovered covid-19 patients, so that they can have access to this modality from treatment to experimentation, “said Treviño Garza.

According to official figures Nuevo León occupies the fourth national place and with the state figures the country is in third place.
