Coronavirus: Neighbors and hoteliers of A Coruña call for responsibility in the use of terraces | Radio Coruña | Today for Today A Coruña

The Federation of Neighborhood Associations of A Coruña and the Metropolitan Area has called for responsibility, both on the part of citizens, and on the part of those responsible for the hospitality establishments that reopen in phase 1 of the process of de-escalated opened by the Government.

The neighborhood entity indicates that they are being observed irresponsible behavior, especially with regard to the use and enjoyment of the terraces of the hotel and catering establishments, and that complaints of non-compliance have reached the federation. The entity has issued a statement in which it demands strict compliance with current regulations, both by the hospitality premises and the public, and asks for an information campaign to A Coruña City Council so that all citizens know clearly what the rules are like, while making them aware of the need to comply.

After the images lived this Monday on some terraces, the Association of Hoteliers of A Coruña has issued a statement in which they acknowledge that the behavior of some hoteliers has harmed them all. The council has already warned of fines of 6,000 euros to those who do not comply with the sanitary measures. The hoteliers also ask customers for responsibility.

Terraces with the same capacity, or even more than before the State of alarm, customers who sat no masks or gloves and without waiting for the cleaning of the table. Images that have caused several stores to not open after Monday for fear of being fined.

Images that the president of the Hoteliers of A Coruña, Hector Cañete, asks that they not be repeated. For this reason, the entity has demanded its partners “to put the number of tables they can control” and “to stop people.” He explained that the regulations establish that the customer can only sit down when the waiter indicates it and once the table has been cleaned.

In general, hoteliers must reduce to 50% the capacity that they had authorized until before the State of Alarm. Only in some streets, in the case of A Coruña, has the terraces been extended.
