Since September, the number of patients with severe forms of coronavirus disease that are difficult to treat began to increase, the duration of the course of the disease has changed.
Now there is a new trend, completely different. The disease has changed a lot, became even more unpredictable and prolonged… If earlier we told the patients that we would survive until the end of the 14th day, then it should become easier, but now it’s nothing of the kind – the deterioration can be in the third week, and in the fourth. And absolutely sudden. Sometimes we even prepare patients for discharge, and they desaturate strongly overnight (blood oxygen saturation drops – Ed.) And we have to start all over again. There were also many sudden deaths.
Serious 30-year-old patients are admitted, so severe that it is very simple. The disease is very terrible and we still need to hold out at least until the end of the year.
Still, I have a great suspicion that some of these strains are already circulating in our country, just today we cannot detect them. As a matter of fact, as we did not find our zero patient, but I did not even dream about it. When there is no sanitary service, this cannot be done. The first patients, and we saw this in the clinic, appeared before the officially discovered patient.
Active vaccination, of course, will help stop the spread of the disease, but stop … Infectious pathology does not have a stop-tap, but the immune system will form naturally. Plus, there are natural patterns in the development of epidemics and pandemics. Easing should happen no earlier than 2022.
When I said in the fall that our task is to live until April, I meant that in the summer and warm seasons, coronaviruses should reduce their aggressiveness. This is not their season. But in general the virus defies any predictions, they don’t come true… He will definitely not disappear from our lives, he just will not be so aggressive.
It is unlikely that it will be possible not to get sick, except for people who have some kind of genetic factors. They not only prevent infection, they simply do not develop it.
