Coronavirus mutated and became even more dangerous

Previously, researchers believed that the coronavirus genome is more stable than the SARS causative agent of SARS. However, it turned out that this is not so. Over time, a fragment of 382 letters of the nucleotide disappeared from the genome of the coronavirus. Researchers suggest that this has led to a less active form of the virus.

According to scientists, this fragment disappeared around the beginning of February of the current year. As a result, coronavirus could become less noticeable for human immunity, and therefore spread faster.
