The number of hospitalizations is on the rise in Occitanie, but fewer patients in intensive care. Update on the situation in the region.
More than 1,000 cases (1,042) were identified in a week in the region, according to the latest bulletin from the Occitanie Regional Health Agency communicated this Friday, August 14. Currently, 149 cases are confirmed each day on average in the region.
58 hospitalizations are in progress (including 10 in intensive care). The number of hospitalizations is on the rise (+3) but fewer intensive care patients (-3). No new deaths are to be declared. In Haute-Garonne, where we see a doubling of Covid-19 cases in one week, 24 people are hospitalized.

More than 55,000 tests are carried out each week in the region. 1.9% of them on average are positive. To facilitate access to screening locations, an interactive map is regularly updated on the ARS website.
At the national level, France recorded 2,846 new contaminations in 24 hours, announces Public Health France this Friday, August 14, against 2,669 the day before. The number of hospitalizations is down in the country, with 4,828 patients against 4,864 on Thursday. In intensive care, the number of patients rose to 367 Friday, against 374 Thursday.
