One of the main prevention tools for Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Infections (STD-STI) remains screening. In Montpellier, the Free Information, Screening and Diagnostic Center (CeGIDD) allows you to be tested free of charge and anonymously. For more than 25 years, the latter has been located within the establishment of Saint Éloi. Although he remains in Montpellier, he will no longer be in the same place.

New premises at the Polygon

From Tuesday 2 June, the CeGIDD team will be in its new premises, at the Bureaux du Polygone, 4th floor, 265 avenue des Etats du Languedoc. As a reminder, the center offers free: HIV / AIDS and viral hepatitis screening, screening and treatment for STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections, vaccination against diseases related to sexuality (Papillomavirus, Viral hepatitis A and B) as well than PrEP (drug prevention of HIV / AIDS) consultations.

Strengthening the link with associations

The CeGIDD team consists of general infectious disease physicians, a dermatologist, a gynecologist, nurses, secretaries and a psychologist.

The new premises will strengthen the close link with associations fighting against AIDS, in fact, they will benefit from a reception space inside the premises of CeGIDD.

A necessary move

With more than 15,000 consultations / year, a constantly growing number, this move has become necessary in order to be able to receive a larger number of people. STI screening and treatment is an important part of the centre’s activity. In addition, consultations for PrEP (drug prevention of HIV) are also increasing, currently around 800 people followed.

This new, larger, modern place outside the Montpellier CHU will be more easily accessible and suitable for people who wish to be screened or consulted.

In the current health context, the CeGIDD now welcomes patients by appointment on 04 67 33 69 50. You will need to wear a mask, not to come accompanied and, in the event of symptoms (fever, cough, breathing difficulties) …), To contact the service which will, if necessary, reschedule the appointment.
