The Ministry of Health apparently did not forward Corona warnings from Germany, Croatia, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Denmark regarding Ischgl and Co. to Tyrol. This was reported by the “standard”. The FPÖ shoots sharply against Health Minister Rudolf Anschober (Greens). If this is true, Anschober is “ready to resign”, explained FPÖ chairman Norbert Hofer.
Warnings from those countries via the EWRS early warning system reached the Ministry of Health from 9 to 13 March. On March 13, Denmark even sent a detailed listing of 283 holiday home returnees from Austrian winter sports communities infected with the coronavirus. 184 of them came from Ischgl, 60 from St. Anton am Arlberg, the report said.
Ministry of Health wants to examine cause
Tyrol’s regional office director Herbert Forster had already announced on Thursday – after the online “standard” of numerous EWRS warnings to Austria – that the reports of those countries were not available to the federal state in the said period. The ministry did not issue an opinion for the time being. You are currently examining the facts – and that takes time. So please be patient until all the facts are available.
Statements that have already provoked fierce criticism from the FPÖ. “In-house research into whether a report was forwarded is not a scientific analysis and should actually be answered within a few hours,” said Hofer. The Minister of Health wipes himself off again and again in the Ischgl case. “This ‘responsibility ping-pong’ between the ÖVP-dominated Tyrol and the Green Ministry of Health in the Ischgl case is unbearable,” said the FPÖ leader.
