Coronavirus. Ministry of Health confirms the first death from Covid-19 in Mexico

The Federal Health Secretariat reported the first death of a person in the country due to coronavirus.

This is a 41-year-old man, who was admitted to the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases (INER) that tested positive for this condition; their situation was aggravated by diabetes who suffered.

According to federal authorities, the patient has been admitted to the INER since March 9. According to relatives of the person who lost his life, on March 3 he attended a concert by the Swedish rock group, called Ghost, in the Sport’s palace.

Separately, another 40-year-old patient admitted to the ABC Hospital, who tested positive for coronavirus and said he was also present at the Palacio de los Deportes concert.

The patient was admitted to the hospital last Monday and was admitted to the intensive care area, but has progressed satisfactorily and has gone down to intermediate therapy, according to medical reports.

Through his Twitter account, the Ministry of Health published the news about the death, as well as condolences from its owner, Jorge Alcocer Varela.

For his part, during the press conference in which it was reported that the country counts 118 positive cases for Covid-19, José Luis Alomía, director of Epidemiology, was questioned about a death, but had mentioned that he had no information, so I could not give it as true.

It was via Twitter that the same Ministry of Health reported on the death.
