Due to the Covid 19 coronavirus pandemic, the summer vacation period will reach a maximum of 30 percent of hotel occupancy in the country, assured Tourism Secretary Miguel Torruco.
The official explained that the reservations began to grow gradually now that the National Day of Sana Distancia has concluded, and they are predominantly for national tourists.
“Here, the occupation through reservations begins, which is the reality of the situation, to grow from June, July and August, where there is a 30 percent, 35 occupation, which means that the summer It will not be as solid as previous years, ”explained Torruco.
I comment that of the tourism market in the country, 85 percent is national, and of foreign tourism, about two thirds reaches the Cancun area and the Riviera Maya.
The focus of which tourism to prioritize will change, Torruco acknowledged.
