Monetary Fund helps 28 countries to overcome the covid impact
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) yesterday approved the disbursement of new emergency funds for 28 of the poorest countries in the world, to help them reduce their debt and better deal with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The announcement, which follows the same measure decreed in mid-April for 25 countries. The 28 benefiting from this second tranche of aid are Afghanistan, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Nepal, Niger, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Sierra Leone, the Solomon Islands, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Togo and Yemen.
