The Minister of Culture and Sports, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, justified this Tuesday the vaccination of the Spanish soccer team, which will be debated today by the Public Health Commission. “They represent us all. We are not vaccinating the footballers, but the players of the Spanish team ”, he assured Cadena SER. Uribes recalled that the Olympians and Paralympians who will attend Tokyo 2020 are already vaccinated. A total of 920 athletes already have the first dose and are awaiting the second. Meanwhile, the concern in Japan about the celebration of the Games continues. This Tuesday, one of the most important virologists and experts of the Government, Hiroshi Oshitani, has warned of the risks of holding the sporting event. In Spain, Health will also study today whether citizens can get the second dose of the vaccine in a different community during the holidays. Catalonia registered 13 deaths from coronavirus last week, the lowest number in the entire pandemic.
