Seven further departments have been classified as a “red zone”, bringing to 28 the areas where the Elysée has made possible “strengthened measures” to contain the spread of the virus.

There are 1,297 cases of Covid recorded in the last 24 hours in Italy, almost 400 fewer than yesterday. The total number of infected people since the beginning of the epidemic is 277,634. Another 7 deaths bringing the total toll to 35,541 victims. As always happens during the weekend, the swabs processed fell: 76,856 (about thirty thousand fewer than yesterday when there were over 107 thousand). For this reason the ratio between the tests carried out and the positive ones found is 1.68% (yesterday 1.58%). After yesterday’s stop, patients return to increase in intensive care in the last 24 hours: they are 133, 12 more than the previous day. Patients with symptoms are also growing (1,683, +63) and people in home isolation (30,262, +809). The total of currently positive is 32,078 (+884). The discharged and the healed rose to 210,015. The regions where the highest number of new cases has been detected are Lombardy (198), Veneto (179), Emilia Romagna (124), Lazio and Campania (122). Valle D’Aosta is the only region with ‘zero infections’ in the last 24 hours.

Lombardy

There are 198 new positives in Lombardy compared to 12,117 swabs carried out. The ratio between the number of new swabs and positives is 1.63%. Of the new cases, 25 are ‘weakly positive’ and 6 following serological testing. The healed / discharged are a total of 76,794 (+86), of which 1,316 discharged and 75,478 recovered. Patients covid in intensive care are 25 (+2), while the hospitalized under the ordinary regime 248 (+3). The deaths, since the beginning of the epidemic, have reached 16,880 (+3). The new cases by province: Milan: 86, of which 51 in Milan city; Bergamo: 8; Brescia: 28; Como: 3; Cremona: 8; Lecco: 3; Praise: 1; Mantua: 7; Monza and Brianza: 21; Pavia: 1; Sondrio: 2; Varese: 11.

Lazio

“Out of almost 11 thousand swabs today there are 122 cases”, announces the councilor for health of Lazio, Alessio D’Amato. And he specifies that in the last 24 hours a death has also been recorded and that of the 122 cases today, 67 are in Rome. Furthermore, the commissioner adds “a prevalence of return cases is confirmed and links to Sardinia continue”.

Emilia Romagna

Infections in slight decline in Emilia Romagna, with 124 new cases (134 yesterday) compared to over 10,200 swabs: an increase in line with recent days. One death registered in the province of Piacenza, while the increase in the number of hospitalized continues: +2 in intensive care (14) and the same number in the other wards (124) Of the newly infected, 57 were already in isolation, 56 identified in already known outbreaks and 60 are asymptomatic. There are 36 cases linked to returns from abroad, 18 from other regions. The average age is 41. The largest number is recorded in the provinces of Reggio Emilia (20), Modena (17), Ravenna (16), Parma (14), Ferrara (13), Bologna (11) and Forlì (13). The active cases are 3,370 (+119), the people in isolation at home are 3,232 (+115), 95%, the total people healed are 24,794 (+4). The Region also reports that the death communicated in yesterday’s update, and relating to the province of Reggio Emilia, is not attributable to Covid-19.

Tuscany

Another 122 infections (113 yesterday) in Tuscany (45 identified in the course of tracing and 77 from screening activities). 7,803 tests performed in the last 24 hours (583,923 since the start of the emergency). The currently positive are 1.994 today, + 5.6% compared to yesterday. No new deaths. These are the data – ascertained at 12 today on the basis of the requests of the National Civil Protection. The average age of cases today is about 41 years: 60% were asymptomatic, 23% pauci-symptomatic, 13% mild. Of the 122 positivity, 9 cases can be linked to returns from abroad and 6 to returns from other Italian regions (3 Sardinia, 3 other).

Veneto

The trend is confirmed in Veneto: there are 179 new cases (yesterday 188) which bring to 23,944 the total number of infected in the region since the beginning of the pandemic. The increase in the current positives slows down, +62 since yesterday and a total of 2,939, while there are no new deaths (total 2,130). The people in fiduciary isolation descend, which are 7,792 (-513), of which 144 (-61) are positive. Hospital admissions are stable, 151 (+1) of which 79 are positive; intensive therapies date back to welcoming 16 patients, 3 more.

Puglia

New cases in Puglia are slightly increasing: 60 compared to 56 yesterday. At the same time, the swabs carried out also increased: today 3358 compared to 3319 yesterday. Of the total of cases today, 22 concern the province of Bari, 4 the province of Bat (Barletta, Andria, Trani), 4 the province of Brindisi, 12 the province of Foggia, 14 the province of Lecce, 4 the province of Taranto. One death in the last 24 hours (in the province of Bari) compared to 2 yesterday.

Sardinia

There are 19 new positives in Sardinia, bringing the total number of cases on the island since the beginning of the epidemic to 2,505. 15 infections emerged from screening activities and 4 from diagnostic suspicions. The number of victims remains unchanged, 136 in all. At the moment, 45 patients are hospitalized in hospital (+1 with respect to the ieril figure, while the number of those in critical conditions is stable. There are 1,032 people in home isolation. Of the overall positive results, 435 (+1) were detected in the city ‘Cagliari Metro, 252 in Southern Sardinia, 103 (+1) in Oristano, 185 (+2) in Nuoro, 1,530 (+15) in Sassari.

Market

There are 20 coronavirus positive cases recorded in the last 24 hours in Market, slightly down from 32 yesterday. There are 11 in the province of Pesaro Urbino, 5 in the province of Ascoli Piceno, 3 in the province of Macerata and 1 in the province of Ancona. These cases include 5 returns from abroad (Macedonia, Albania, Moldova), 4 asymptomatic contacts in the home environment, 4 symptomatic subjects, 6 close contacts of positive cases and one case detected by health care screening.

The others

Make sure in Umbria 26 new cases: the number of hospitalized in the hospitals of Perugia and Terni stable at 15, two in intensive care. Six new healed were reported, 1,473 total. No deaths recorded in the last 24 hours. The currently positives thus increased from 342 to 362. In the last day, 1,220 swabs were performed, 165,428 since the start of the pandemic. In Piedmont 56 new cases, for a total of 33,256. No deaths in the past 24 hours.
