Rome, 21 October 2020 – The epidemic curve continues to rise. The new bulletin on the trend of Coronavirus in Italia records a further increase in new positives, which exceed 15 thousand. Alarming numbers especially in some regions, such as Lombardy, where, to cope with the new wave, the ordinance that imposes the curfew from 11pm to 5am in the morning from 22 October until 13 November. The governor Attilio Fontana, however, is not the only one to have signed a provision to limit the spread of infections. The same choice was in fact adopted by Vincenzo De Luca for the Campania and also by other regional presidents and mayors.
And the pandemic continues to run even in rest of the world. According to data from the Johns Hopkins University observatory, there are 40,729,251 confirmed cases globally with 1,124,027 deaths. Today in Germany there are almost 7,600 new positives, over 1,700 those in Tunisia, 15,700 in Russia (with the sad record of 317 deaths), 1,958 in Austria, while the Czech Republic has decided to implement a partial lockdown.
Covid, the budget of 21 October
A surge in new cases of Coronavirus positivity: in the last 24 hours they have been 15,199 the infected (yesterday there were 10,874) and they are 127 deceased (yesterday 89). It is the highest figure since the infection started to grow again. This was announced by the bulletin of the Ministry of Health. Slightly less steep growth for the terapie intensive, +56 today versus yesterday’s +73, 926 in all, and for i ordinary hospitalizations, +603 (yesterday +778), for a total of 9,057.

Lombardy
They would be 4,125 the new positives al Coronavirus in Lombardy, of which over 1,800 in the metropolitan city of Milan. Waiting for the official data that will be communicated, as usual, by the Lombardy Region in the afternoon bulletin at 5pm, these are the alarming data reported by the TGR and which concern the last 24 hours.
Campania
I’m 1,760 new cases emerged in the last 24 hours in Campania. This is the highest new positive figure for a single day in the Region since the beginning of the emergency. Of the 1,760 new positives, 99 are symptomatic and 1,661 are asymptomatic. The swabs analyzed are 13,878. The total of positives in Campania since the beginning of the emergency rises to 30,484, while the total swabs examined are 802,965.
Veneto
The Veneto records a boom in Covid cases, +1,422 in the last 24 hours. The total positives thus passed from 36,843 yesterday to 38,265 today. There are also 14 victims, in the last 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 2,282. From the Region, however, they explain that the significant increase in cases is also linked to the flow of microbiologies from the Ulss r of Venice dating back to 15 October last, which have been updated in today’s bulletin.
Emilia Romagna
Since the beginning of the Coronavirus epidemic, in Emilia Romagna 42,588 cases of positivity were registered, 671 more compared to yesterday, out of a total record of 17,165 swabs performed in the last 24 hours. Register also 8 deaths. Of the new positives, 305 asymptomatics were identified as part of the regional contact tracing and screening activities. A total of 159 people (among the new positives) were already in isolation at the time of the swab and 191 were identified in already known outbreaks. The average age of new positives today is 44.9 years. Of the 305 asymptomatic, 125 were identified thanks to contact tracing, 36 through tests for the risk categories introduced by the Region, 1 for serological screening, 12 with pre-hospitalization tests. The epidemiological investigation is still ongoing for 131 cases. The province with the most infections is that of Bologna (172), followed by Rimini (100), Reggio Emilia (82), Modena (79), Piacenza (59), Parma (51), Ferrara (38), Ravenna (29), the territory of Forli ‘(26), the Cesena area (21) and Imola area (14). Of the 172 cases in the province of Bologna, 71 swabs for the presence of symptoms, 8 were identified thanks to contact tracing, 4 through tests for the categories most at risk, 1 during pre-hospitalization checks, while for 88 new positives the epidemiological investigation is still ongoing.
Tuscany
In Tuscany I am today 866 the new cases of positivity (679 identified in the course of tracing and 187 from screening activities) out of a total of 25,466 cases registered since the beginning of the epidemic. New cases are 3.5% more than the previous day’s total. The average age of the 866 cases today is about 44 years (17% are under 20, 27% between 20 and 39, 31% between 40 and 59, 16% between 60 and 79, 9% are 80 or older). The healed grew by 1.4% and reached 12,006 (47.1% of total cases). The swabs performed reached 950,782, 11,629 more than yesterday. 7,359 subjects tested (excluding control swabs), of which 11.8% were positive. The currently positive are 12,239 today, + 6% compared to yesterday. The hospitalized are 579 (32 more than yesterday), of which 76 in intensive care (4 more). Today there are 13 new deaths: 7 men and 6 women with an average age of 79.8 years.
Market
In the last 24 hours, in Market have been identified 226 new cases Covid-19, 15.2% compared to the 1486 swabs processed during the day for the new diagnosis process; this is a significantly worse figure than that released yesterday, when the positives were 89 in one day and the ratio with the 913 tests carried out had dropped to 9.7%.
South Tyrol
In South Tyrol There are two other Coronavirus victims, for a total of 296 since the start of the health emergency. The numbers of contagion with 189 new cases positives ascertained on the basis of the evaluation of 1,884 swabs (913 tests carried out for the first time). The number of people tested positive is now 5,302. The number of hospitalized patients remains unchanged: 96 in normal hospital wards and 7 in intensive care. On the other hand, 25 (one more) patients are in isolation in the Colle Isarco facility. There are 5,447 people in home isolation
Basilicata
Yet 95 new positive cases of Coronavirus in Basilicata, ten cases concern people residing outside the region and there in isolation, have emerged in the face of the 1210 swabs for the search for contagion from Covid – 19 tried yesterday. Also yesterday 23 people healed. The currently positive Lucanians are 671 and of these 619 are in home isolation. There are 52 hospitalized in Lucanian hospitals, 4 in intensive care.
Puglia
Today in Puglia they have been registered 324 new cases positive on 5,300 tests for Covid-19 Coronavirus infection: 123 in the province of Bari, 26 in the province of Brindisi, 38 in the province of BAT, 61 in the province of Foggia, 10 in the province of Lecce, 61 in the province of Taranto, 5 residents outside the region. They have also been registered 2 deaths in the province of Bari. Since the beginning of the emergency in Puglia 502,331 tests have been carried out, 5,690 patients are cured and 5,991 are currently positive cases.
Enjoy them Venezia Giulia
Today they have been detected 219 new infections (4,627 swabs performed) e a death from Covid-19 in Friuli Venezia Giulia. It is a man from 1939 who was hospitalized in the intensive care unit at the Udine hospital. This was announced by the deputy governor with responsibility for Health, Riccardo Riccardi. The people tested positive for the virus in the region since the beginning of the pandemic amounted in all to 6,855, of which: 2,282 in Trieste, 2,382 in Udine, 1,422 in Pordenone and 727 in Gorizia, in addition to 42 people from outside the region. The current cases of infection are 2,118. The number of patients being treated in intensive care has risen to 16 and to 76 hospitalized in other departments. The total deaths amounted to 367.
Valle d’Aosta
I’m 111 new positives in Valle d’Aosta for a total of 2,132 since the beginning of the pandemic. The current positives are 831, up by 106 units, of which 42 are hospitalized at the Parini hospital in Aosta. Among these 5 are in intensive care. 784 instead the people currently in home isolation. Deaths remained stable at 146.
Sardinia
Still dead in Sardinia for Coronavirus: in the latest bulletin of the Regional Crisis Unit the deaths of three women, two residents in the metropolitan city of Cagliari, aged 81 and 78, and the third, 52, from Villasor, in Southern Sardinia. The new cases are 167, the extra swabs made are 2,223. The number of hospitalized patients is still growing, now 236 (+10), as well as that of patients in intensive care, 36 (+2). There are 3,539 people in home isolation, 88 newly healed. Of the 6,643 positive cases ascertained overall, 1,141 (+27) were detected in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari, 977 (+23) in Southern Sardinia, 528 (+21) in Oristano, 977 (+23) in Nuoro, 3.020 (+73 ) in Sassari.
