The two men, on whom how New York gets through the Corona crisis depends, can’t stand each other. Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo are both members of the Democratic Party, which doesn’t stop them from criticizing or, if possible, torpedoing each other’s political projects. Cuomo has headed the state of New York since 2011, de Blasio has been mayor of North America’s largest metropolis since 2014, and since the administrations of state and city are closely intertwined, it is actually essential that both men work together. Often, however, their feud was more important to them.
