Coronavirus in the UK: – Deadly father of eight:

He has had a stroke, and one of his lungs collapsed after he was admitted. Father of eight James Grayson (41) is in a coma after he became critically ill after he was diagnosed with corona in October.

His daughter, Ebonnie Grayson (21), says Sky News that the family is terrified and completely crushed, after new scans showed that the test results of his lungs are constantly deteriorating.

Her father has had several serious complications since he contracted the virus. He has had a stroke, and one of his lungs collapsed after he was admitted.

“Even with the doctors’ best efforts, it still does not get any better,” she told Sky News.

– The best dad

– We are all completely crushed. My father is in our family at all. He is a strong man. He’s the best dad. He is so supportive. He takes care of us all. This is the worst thing that could happen to us.

The daughter Ebonnie has started one GoFundMepage, where they collect money for the hospital expenses of the father, who is still in a coma.

Alive because of machines

– He is literally only alive now because of the machines he is on. If he was not on them, he would be dead.

Grayson, from Frimley in Surrey in the UK, thought he was suffering from the flu when he suddenly collapsed at home on October 19, Sky News reports.

The father of eight and the grandfather of five, works as a carpenter and window fitter. He was taken to hospital in October by ambulance, where it was confirmed that he had been diagnosed with the coronavirus.

Grayson’s youngest child, the nine-year-old son, was also diagnosed with the coronavirus shortly after his father. He became ill with the virus, but recovered within a few weeks.

Trapped in your own body

Grayson’s family is currently allowed to visit him in the intensive care unit at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital in London, but they must wear a full infection control suit when visiting, according to his daughter.

– The doctors have told us that we must prepare now, because he will not get better. His lungs are getting worse, says Ebonnie.

Ebonnie calls the situation traumatic.

– All we can do is hold his hand and talk to him. His heartbeat goes up when we are there and talk to him. I think he notices that we are there. If that is true, he must be terrified, trapped in his own body.
