Coronavirus in the southwest: Baden-Württemberg is approaching the 200 mark – Baden-Württemberg

In Baden-Württemberg, over 2200 new corona infections will be reported within 24 hours on Sunday. With the seven-day value for new infections per 100,000 inhabitants, the southwest is approaching a critical mark.

Stuttgart – In Baden-Württemberg, the number of confirmed corona infections rose by 2277 cases within one day, and 25 additional deaths related to Covid-19 were registered. There are now 188,233 confirmed infections nationwide since the beginning of the pandemic and a total of 3424 deaths, as the State Health Office announced on Sunday (as of 4 p.m.).

As a result, 526 Sars-CoV-2 patients are currently in intensive care, of which 304 (57.59 percent) are invasively ventilated. A total of 2083 of 2520 usable intensive care beds (82.65 percent) are occupied. The number of those who have recovered is estimated to have grown by 2,140 to 133,030.

The seven-day value for new infections per 100,000 inhabitants is currently 187.2 for the entire country and once again exceeds the incidence of the previous days. Furthermore, all 44 urban and rural districts are above the limit value of 50, from which a district is considered a risk area. 17 of these have now passed the 200 mark, while the Enz district and the districts of Heilbronn and Pforzheim have even exceeded the mark of 300 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.
