North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said North Korea is facing its biggest shock since independence. An outbreak of coronavirus is recorded in the country.

“The Secretary General said that while the situation around the world with the spread of the new coronavirus is serious, the spread of this malignant infectious disease in our country can be called the biggest shock since its inception, but we will be able to overcome the crisis as much as we like if we do not lose focus on the implementation of anti-virus measures, we will maintain organization and control, and strengthen the fight against infection,” the message says.
The KCNA claims that 524,440 cases have been reported throughout North Korea, while 243,000 have already recovered – the agency clarified that this number was registered from late April to May 13.
