BASQUE COUNTRY: CONTAGES SPREAD ONE MORE DAY
Euskadi has detected 828 new positives in Covid-19, which means 149 more cases than on the preceding day, and a increase in the positivity rate to 7.35% of the 11,263 PCRs performed. For its part, new hospitalizations in the ward have risen to 40, while there are 50 patients admitted to ICUs with coronavirus.
According to the data made public by the Basque Department of Health, 11,263 PCR tests have been carried out throughout the day this past Thursday, above the 10,890 carried out on Wednesday, and 828 new positives have been detected. In this way, the percentage of positives with respect to the tests carried out has risen by more than one point, from 6.2% to 7.3%.
Of the total number of infections, they have been detected 116 in Álava, a figure higher than the 77 positives of the previous day. Vitoria concentrates the highest number of new infections, 95, while the town of Agurain adds two positives and, according to the colored traffic light with which the Department of Health indicates, the municipalities that exceed 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days , is placed in ‘orange’ with an incidence rate of 302.11.
Also In Bizkaia, infections have risen to 329, while on Wednesday there were 291. The highest number of cases has been detected in Bilbao, with 99 new infections. In the Biscayan territory, Health marks in ‘orange’, when the incidence rate is between 300 and 499, the municipalities of Abadiño, Elorrio, Ermua, Güeñes, Muskiz, Portugalete and Sestao, while the traffic light is in ‘red’ in Durango, with an incidence rate of 533.36 and Lekeitio, with 510.63.
In Gipuzkoa, positive cases have increased to 370, compared to 303 the previous day, with 64 new infections in San Sebastián. In this territory, eight municipalities are in ‘red’, exceeding 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days (Astigarraga, Azkoitia, Azpeitia, Beasain, Elgoibar, Ordizia, Tolosa and Zumarraga), while in another 17 Health marks’ orange ‘(Andoain, Bergara, Deba, Eibar, Errenteria, Hernani, Lasarte-Oria, Lazkao, Legazpi, Lezo, Mutriku, Oñati, Pasaia, Urnieta, Urretxu, Villabona and Zumaia).
