Two-week quarantine in Hong Kong for patients who will overcome the coronavirus
Patients who have overcome the covid in Hong Kong and are discharged from hospital must remain in quarantine for at least two weeks, according to a new regulation of the Hong Kong authorities that comes into force today.
“Since patients who have recently recovered from the infection may continue to be carriers of the virus, this measure will minimize the risk that these patients carry the virus to their communities,” said local authorities, quoted today by radio and television. Hong Kong RTHK.
What’s more, Requirements for patient discharge have been restricted who have had “significant improvements” in respiratory symptoms and lung X-ray results, and 10 days have passed since the onset of illness.
According to the respiratory medicine expert Leung Chi-chiu, the new regulations will help China and Hong Kong understand each other in order to lift travel restrictions between the two territories., reports Efe.
