ISABEL DÍAZ AYUSO ATTORNEY FOR NOT FINISHING THE ECONOMY: “WE ARE SINKING”
The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayuso, has advocated adopting measures “in dialogue with the Government and the rest of the municipalities” to face Covid-19 but has insisted that it is not possible to “finish off the economy.” “We are sinking,” he assured.
He has also referred to the approach of the regional vice president, Ignacio Aguado, who in an interview in El País, collected by Europa Press, has indicated that he wants to reach Christmas with a cumulative incidence of 25 positive cases per 100,000, for which he believes that “it may be necessary to make a stop, a ‘stop and go ‘, as they say in Formula 1, for a few days defined. ” Ayuso has ruled that “the objective is that there are no infections, not 25, that there be none.”
In statements offered to the media at the end of the act of tribute to the victims of the coronavirus in Puerta del Sol, Ayuso has expressed that the Ministry of Health has “the best experts” and that, therefore, they should be the ones who set “the next steps”, once the state of alarm in the region subsides.
The president stressed that the objective of her Government is “to save lives” and that “normality” will soon be restored, and he has defended “sensible and moderate policies in which health and the economy are not confronted.”
“I continue to advocate for the policies of the Ministry of Health, in dialogue with the Government and the rest of the City Councils, and together seek sensible solutions where, while we live with this virus that seems to be going on for a long time, we can end it virus and not finish off the economy, because we’re sinking“, has highlighted.
