BASQUE COUNTRY: 101 ICU PATIENTS and 402 NEW POSITIVES
Euskadi has registered 29 deaths with covid as a direct cause in the week of March 8 to 14, eleven less than in the preceding week. In addition, they have been detected 402 new positives in Covid-19 this past Tuesday, eight more than the previous day, and the rate of positives has increased to 4.5%, with fewer diagnostic tests performed.
There are 101 ICU patients, three more than in the previous day, and the new incomes in the plant amount to 39, which is five more than on Monday.
According to the data of the last Epidemiological bulletin of the Basque Department of HealthOn Tuesday, 8,874 diagnostic tests were carried out (5,272 PCR and 3,602 antigen tests), down from 9,254 the previous day, with 402 positives. The rate of positive cases accumulated in 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants has risen again this Tuesday and stands at 206.07, which is three points more than on Monday (203.25). This indicator increases in the three territories. Álava (221.37) and Bizkaia (209.22) exceed the average, while Gipuzkoa maintains the lowest rate, 186.27.
Of the total of new infections, in Vizcaya 205 positives have been detected this past Tuesday, 18 more than the previous day. The highest data are registered in Bilbao with 93 positives (19 more), followed by Barakaldo with 14, Getxo with 13, Sestao with eleven and Santurtzi with nine.
In Guipuzcoa 118 cases have been registered, which is two more. The Gipuzkoan towns with the most positive cases of coronavirus are San Sebastián with 24 new infections (eight more), Beasain with ten and Irun with seven.
For its part, Álava It has added 69 new infected, 20 less than in the previous day. Most of them occur in Vitoria, with 49 positives (29 less), while Okondo adds four positives and Llodio three.
By age, the highest number of new infections has occurred in people between 40 and 64 years old (152 new positives), followed by those under 18 years of age (103 cases) and the age group from 19 to 39 years (87). Those over 65 account for 60 cases, of which 13 are over 80 years old.
The highest cumulative incidence rate in 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants occurs among the population under 18 years of age, with 301,13, and the lowest is that of the population over 80 years of age, with 111.73.
In Basque hospitals, there were 39 new admissions to the plant this Tuesday, which is five more than on Monday. In this way, the number of people hospitalized with covid rises to 222, which is two less than in the previous balance.
To them are added 101 patients with coronavirus who remain in the ICUs of Basque hospitals, three more than the previous day, and they return to levels of a week ago.
