Germany accelerates the purchase of vaccines, with a consolidated downward incidence
The German Government tries to accelerate the purchase of additional vaccine consignments, given the evidence that the existing ones will not be enough for the winter campaign and despite the somewhat lowered alarm due to the continued decline in COVID-19 infections.
Health Minister Karl Lauterbach, in office for a week, admitted yesterday that a first inventory had revealed a shortage of doses for the remainder of the year.
This situation occurs at a time when the Government has succeeded in calls to the non-immunized population to be vaccinated and, for those who have the full schedule, to receive the dose of soda.
The Ministry of Health intends for next year to ensure the aacquisition of 92 million doses from Pfizer, 80 million, according to the distribution and existing contracts with the European Union and another 12 million additional. (Eph)
