Coronavirus in Spain live: measures at Christmas | December bridge last hour

GALICIA: 277 POSITIVE AND 4 DECEASED IN 24 HOURS

Galicia has added 277 new positives by coronavirus in 24 hours, 60 less than the previous day in a day in which the PCR tests carried out with a positivity rate of 4.7% were increased by more than a thousand (1,292 in total).

Talking about active cases throughout Galicia –that is, the number of people diagnosed with the disease–, the Community maintains its downward trend and it continues below the barrier of 7,000 patients, since specifically there is this Sunday with 6,726 –222 less than on Saturday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of Covid-19 has been diagnosed in Galicia 54.199, of which 46,226 have been cured, 554 in the last 24 hours. However, the death toll from the health crisis in the Galician Community continues to rise and now stands at 1,250 after the Consellería notified 4 deaths in the last hours, two of them from nursing homes.

This sustained decline is replicated in all health areas. That of Vigo It is the one with the most covid patients, with a total of 1,800 –42 fewer. Also, A Coruña-Cee has 1376 –54 less–; and of Pontevedra-O Salnés it falls below the threshold of a thousand active cases: it has 990, 35 less than 24 hours before.

By contrast, hospital pressure rises this Sunday to increase both those hospitalized in the ward and those admitted to the ICU. Thus, there is a total of 406 people hospitalized -eight more- with a covid diagnosis in Galician hospitals, of which 64 are in critical condition – three more than the day before.

This is included in the update of the epidemiological situation of the Galician Community offered by the Department of Health on its website with data collected until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

At that moment, the number of admitted had only decreased in the area of ​​A Coruña, the one with the highest number of hospitalized for coronavirus in weeks. In total, there are 120 admitted with covid-19, five less than 24 hours ago, of which 23 are in the ICU (one less).

In contrast, the rest of the health districts maintain or worsen their hospital pressure. In Vigo, the 77 admitted the day before with the same distribution remain: 65 in the ward and 12 in the ICU.

There are also no changes in the health area of ​​Pontevedra-O Salnés, where 42 patients with coronavirus continue to be admitted: 42 in conventional units and nine in critics.

The district of Santiago-Barbanza presents an increase in hospital pressure, with six more patients admitted to 49. The number of people in the ICU also increased to 9, three more than 24 hours before.

In the area of Ourense-Verín-O Barco de Valdeorras There are 42 people hospitalized (one more) and the number admitted to the ICU remains at 5. In the Ferrol area there are no news in the global data (35 admitted) but there are in the critical units, which take in three more patients.

Finally, the area of Lugo-A Mariña-Monforte It is the one with the fewest cases of COVID in hospitals although it presents, together with the Santiago district, the largest increase of the day with six more hospitalized patients. They are now 32, of which there is only one person in critics.
