Guatemala accumulates 385,512 infections and 10,644 deaths from covid-19
Guatemala has accumulated 385,512 infections and 10,644 deaths from COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, according to data published this Friday by the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance and collected by EFE.
In the latest update, an increase in 3,998 confirmed positive cases and 66 deaths. At this time, the country registers 38,424 active cases. The cumulative incidence of COVID-19 in Guatemala amounted to 2,268.8 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the death rate increased to 60 deaths per 100,000 people.
Refering to vaccination in Guatemala, the health system has immunized 2.195.910 Guatemalans with first dose already 361.464 with the full agenda. The country has received donations vaccine doses from Israel (5,000 from Moderna), India (200,000 from AstraZeneca), Mexico (300,000 from AstraZeneca), United States (4.5 million from Moderna) and Spain (21,600 from AstraZeneca).
These are in addition to 900,000 first doses and 60,000 second doses of the Sputnik V vaccine – purchased by the Government – and 724,800 doses of AstraZeneca and 363,870 doses of Pfizer purchased through the mechanism. Covax of the World Health Organization.
