Galicia triples those hospitalized with 30 patients in ICUs
Galicia has tripled its number of hospitalized for covid-19 in the last two weeks, according to data released this Tuesday by health authorities, which show a new increase of more than a thousand infections in a day (1,300) and brings the number of infected or sick people to 18,061, 763 more than the previous day.
According to the Galician Health Service, until 6:00 p.m. on Monday there were in critical units 30 people admitted, five more; while in the plant there were 236 patients, three more than the day before and leaving the total number in 266 hospitalized.
Two weeks ago, the total number of people admitted was 79, three times less; with 14 people in the ICU, less than half and 65 in the ward, more than three times less.
During the weekend the accumulated incidence has not stopped growing, since if on Friday it was 575.8 cases at 14 days for every one hundred thousand inhabitants; yesterday Monday according to data from the Ministry of Health, it rose to 655.4, 79 points more.
The evolution is also negative in Galicia in terms of the cumulative incidence at seven days, one of the indicators that serves to check the short-term evolution, since for the first time in many months it is higher than the Spanish average; 342.9 cases for Galicia and 338.9 for the country as a whole.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 152,207 people have been infected in Galicia, of which 131,719 have been cured and 2,452 have died, three of them notified in the last hours.
The positivity rate has fallen slightly, to 9.3%, among the set of 13,958 detection tests of any type carried out in the last 24 hours.
By health areas, Vigo continues to detect more than 300 infections a day and reaches 4,348 people sick with covid-19; while Ourense consolidates its trend towards stabilization and slightly downwards, with 87 infections detected, two less, and 2,257 active cases, 18 less than the previous day.
