Coronavirus in Spain live: Delta variant, last minute | COVID vaccine appointment in Madrid, Andalusia …

438 thousand doses arrive in the Valencian Community this week

The Conselleria de Sanidad Universal y Salud Pública plans to administer a total of 438,217 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine over the next seven days. It is the third largest number of weekly doses since the start of the vaccination campaign.

Specifically, during this week they will be inoculated 135,000 more doses that those that have been administered in the last seven days, a circumstance that will allow “to continue streamlining” the age groups that are still pending to receive the doses, as pointed out this Sunday by the Minister of Universal Health and Public Health, Ana Barceló.

In total, they will inject 249,396 doses of Pfizer vaccine, 51,919 doses of Moderna, 125,155 doses of Janssen and 11,747 doses of AstraZeneca, as reported this Sunday by the Ministry of Health. The majority of doses, more than 154,000, will be destined for first doses of the group of people from 30 to 39 years, in this case almost 105,000 doses of Pfizer and about 49,500 of Moderna.

Another of the majority groups that will be vaccinated this week, in this case with second doses, will be the population between 40 and 49 years old. 136,000 doses will be used for this: 134,000 from Pfizer and about 2,250 from Moderna.

For its part, the Janssen vaccine will be administered 125,155 doses. Most of the vials (124,790) have been reserved for the ‘Operation Repechage’ for people from 59 to 40 who were not vaccinated on their day for different reasons, for example, who were not cited because they did not have updated contact information. It is the third rescue made to this age group, says Health.

During this week it is also planned complete the vaccination schedule for children under 60 years of age who received the first dose of AstraZeneca, as well as to recall people who, for different reasons, could not be vaccinated when it was their turn and their cohort is now closed.

It is the turn since 20 years

Also in those health departments, mainly those that serve the population of inland areas, and where vaccination is more advanced in age groups over 30, the appointment will begin at young people between 20 and 29 years old. The mass summons for this cohort will be made last week of this July, as announced this Saturday by the ‘president’ of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig.

Finally, it is also planned to immunize people who had an active coronavirus infection and had to wait for six months to elapse, health professionals that are incorporated as summer reinforcements to the Valencian health system, nursing home professionals or patients with high-risk health conditions.
