Coronavirus in Spain: AstraZeneca and Janssen vaccines | Restrictions and curfew | April 26

GALICIA: 159 NEW INFECTED AND 214 HOSPITALIZED PATIENTS IN 24 HOURS

Patients admitted due to Covid-19 in Galicia as a whole have increased to 214, which is ten more than the previous day, while new infections fall below 200 to 141 and active cases drop slightly to 3,015 after five consecutive days with an upward trend.

This is clear from the data updated on the morning of this Monday by the Department of Health, with records until 6:00 p.m. this Sunday, in which it is indicated that 45 Covid patients in the ICU, one less, and those of other units rise to 169, 11 more.

By sanitary areas, hospital pressure rises in four of the seven: A Coruña and Cee, Vigo, Santiago and Barbanza and Lugo; while it descends in that of Pontevedra and O Salnés and remains in that of Ourense and Ferrol. For its part, in Lugo, four Covid patients continue in the ICU and those from other units increase to 11 – two more -; and in Santiago and Barbanza, four are still in the ICU and those of other units go up to 22 – three more.

As for that of Pontevedra and O Salnés Five Covid patients are kept in the ICU and those from other units drop to 18 -one less-; while in Ourense the critics fall to nine -two less- and those of other units rise to 20 -two more. And in the Ferrol area, two continue in the ICU and 11 in other units.

After five consecutive days of promotion, active Covid-19 cases decline slightly to 3,015, one less, having 160 discharges compared to 159 new infections. Active infections fell in four of the health areas: A Coruña and Cee (-5), Santiago and Barbanza (-2), Lugo (-2) and Ferrol (-2); while it rises in those of Vigo (+4), Pontevedra and O Salnés (+4) and Ourense (+2).

Thus, the Vigo area remains with more active cases, with 878; followed by A Coruña and Cee, with 733; Pontevedra and O Salnés, with 485; Santiago and Barbanza, 341; Ourense, 257; Lugo, 204; and Ferrol is still in line with 117.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Galician Community has carried out 2,016,232 PCR, which represents 7,130 more tests than those recorded until the previous day.

2,382 people have died since the start of the pandemic diagnosed with Covid-19 in Galicia, without changes in 24 hours as the Ministry of Health did not notify any new victims this Sunday. It is the ninth day that this has occurred in seven months.

For its part, according to the latest updated data, 116,011 patients have been cured of this coronavirus in the whole of the Galician Community, which represents 160 more people than those registered the previous day.
