PKP Intercity reminded on Saturday that in public transport, including trains, there is an obligation to cover the mouth and nose. The carrier added that in the event of repeated evasion of this obligation, at the request of the conductor team, except for cases provided for in the regulations, the security services may intervene.
“Since mid-June, PKP Intercity has recorded nearly 90 incidents requiring police intervention to passengers who do not respect the obligation to cover their mouth and nose during the journey” – it was reported.

The company encourages passengers to choose its offer, buy tickets remotely e.g. via the website intercity.pl or the IC Mobile Navigator mobile application. The company reminded that from August 5 there is a change in the regulations, which, inter alia, shortened the time for the purchase, return and exchange of tickets from the e-IC system. So far, Fr.the binding 15 minutes for the purchase and return and 30 minutes for the ticket exchange were shortened to 5 minutes before the departure of the train (except for the sale of some tickets on international transport – sleeper and couchette carriages; as well as ticket returns for international transport).
It has been added that the work on making the seat reservation to season tickets in applications IC Mobile Navigator and SkyCash for journeys on TLK and IC trains. This change – also available from August 5 this year. – is a facilitation prepared especially for passengers using segment tickets, so for those who do not always have the possibility to select the connection precisely in advance.
Additionally, the carrier introduced the option of payment on board trains and at ticket offices contactless card up to PLN 100 without PIN verification.
PKP Intercity also indicated that the algorithm for allocating seats on trains has also changed so that travelers were distributed fairly evenly in all carriages.
