We put masks on our eyes, not on the nose and mouth, we do not see the virus, we pretend that it is not there, the relaxation is complete – said Dr. Michał Sutkowski, president of Warsaw Family Physicians, on TVN24, commenting on the number of new infections on Saturday. 584 infections are the second highest number of confirmed cases in one day since the beginning of the pandemic in Poland. – It’s the virus that deals the cards. We have no causative tools except those that we should enforce socially, namely: distance, masks, hygiene – he appealed.

The Ministry of Health announced on Saturday about 584 new, confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection and the death of another nine people. Since the beginning of the pandemic, it has only happened once that the number of infections recorded in one day in our country was higher – on June 8, the Ministry of Health reported 599 infections.

In total, in Poland, from the beginning of the epidemic, the infection was confirmed in 42,622 people, of whom 1,664 died.

Dr. Michał Sutkowski, president of the Warsaw Family Physicians on TVN24, said that he and all experts had been saying that this would be the case for two months. – We put masks on our eyes, we do not see the virus, we pretend that it is not there, and not on the nose and mouth. We do not listen to the necessary messages, we do not listen to each other at all, relaxation is complete – he said.

– If we listen to anyone, it is either ourselves, which is usually the wrong way, or all those internet trolls, twisted cyber idiots who tell us there is no pandemic. Things that we predicted would come out. There are voting rallies without masks, weddings are coming out, techno parties sprinkled on the catamaran come out – he mentioned.

He admitted that “he only feels sorry for all those who got infected through no fault of his own.” – To all those who got infected at work, otherwise they cannot earn their bread and have to go to work like miners. I feel sorry for all these services, the health service, the police, the army, all those who work and at this moment are exposed to public health – he emphasized.

– I would like to say: let’s get it together. This is the last moment. It will be worse after the holidays, because the virus is overwhelming us – he appealed.

Dr. Sutkowski said the data “should be read a bit like biology and medicine”. – We would like to arrange that this is the first wave, this is the second wave, maybe a third wave, and who knows? he said.
