Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on Thursday announced a plan to implement restrictions aimed at protecting the country from the spread of the coronavirus. On Friday, the health ministry said that laboratory tests confirmed coronavirus infection in another 7,705 people. 132 patients also died. The highest number of infections was recorded in the Małopolskie Voivodeship – 1105. So far, the highest daily balance of infections was recorded on Thursday, October 15th. At that time, 8099 new COVID-19 cases and 91 deaths were reported. Most deaths were recorded on Wednesday, October 14.

On Friday, in the Journal of Laws, an ordinance on new restrictions related to the epidemic was published – among other things, from Saturday, restaurants across the country will be open from 6.00 to 21.00, sports events will take place without the participation of the public. From Monday, there will be a ban on organizing special events in the red zone.

In the yellow zone there is an obligation to cover the mouth and nose in public collective transport, in generally accessible places – unless a distance of 1.5 meters is kept, in workplaces and public buildings, as well as in commercial or service facilities. In the red zone the obligation to cover the mouth and nose applies to all public spaces.

Education
In the yellow zone hybrid teaching applies in universities and secondary schools. Teaching in a hybrid system in secondary schools and primary schools for adults is to be organized in such a way that at least 50 percent of students from a given school have full-time classes at school and the rest remotely. Apprenticeships will be held stationary – unless the employer has any events threatening the health of students.

The way of organizing education is left to school principals so that they adjust this form to the conditions in a given school. At the same time, it was indicated that the school head was to set the timetable of classes in such a way as to enable even and alternate realization of these classes by each student.

In the red zone distance learning is obligatory at universities and post-primary schools. Work placements in the red zone will be carried out stationary or in the form of an educational project or a virtual enterprise.

There will be exceptions in both zones. Stationary education remains in special secondary schools, including those operating in special educational and educational centers, youth educational centers, youth sociotherapy centers and special schools preparing for work.

The limitation will also not apply to juvenile employees who are students of the first-degree industry school in the field of practical classes at employers. They will carry out practical classes, as long as there are no events threatening their health at the employer. The restriction will also not apply to boarding schools in which students are staying.
