We are witnessing the development of the COVID-19 epidemic in Poland. Every week, the Ministry of Health records more and more deaths among people infected with the coronavirus. At the same time – as shown by the Ministry’s statistics – in the last few days the least tests have been carried out in three weeks. We analyzed the epidemiological situation in our country from October 5 to November 22.

The Ministry of Health announced on Sunday 18,467 new cases of coronavirus and the deaths of 330 people. It was reported that 74 people died due to COVID-19, and 256 people due to the coexistence of COVID-19 with other diseases. In total, in Poland, infection was confirmed in 861,331 people, of whom 13,618 died. 423,917 patients recovered. More than 5,944,092 tests have been carried out since the start of the pandemic.

More and more dead
According to data from the Ministry of Health, the number of deceased people who have undergone COVID-19 is growing week by week in Poland.

In the last seven days (between November 16 and 22) died in our country in total 3270 infected. Last week (between November 9 and 15) died in our country in total 2476 infected. In days November 2-8 total 2089 deaths. In days October 26 – November 1 who died due to COVID-19 were in Poland 1345. Between October 19-25 died 865 infected with SARS-CoV-2. Week earlier (October 12-18) died 569 people with coronavirus. Within seven days October 4 and 11 The Ministry of Health announced a total of 374 deaths of infected people.

Most of the dead had comorbidities. They are usually cardiological, immune, respiratory, oncological, metabolic, kidney, diabetes or obesity diseases. In combination with the coronavirus, they can significantly worsen the patient’s condition.

How many people are infected?
Week after week, the Ministry of Health also records large numbers of coronavirus infections.

In the last week (November 16-22) total detected 148,970 infections. At the same time, it was done 333 964 tests.

Last week (November 9-15) total detected 166 547 infections and done 368 923 tests.

Between November 2 and 8 noticed 166 523 coronavirus cases, at 477 828 performed tests.

Within seven days from October 26 to November 1 arrived 126 214 infected. Taken then jointly 432 775 tests.

In the week October 19-25 detected 77 922 infections, with 358 170 conducted research.

Between October 12-18 confirmed 49 950 COVID-19 cases and the tests were done 304 402.

Week between October 5 and 11 increased the coronavirus statistics by another 25742 infected. At that time, it was carried out 220 749 tests.

The first victims of the coronavirus in Poland
On March 12, it was reported that the first fatal victim infected with the coronavirus was a 56-year-old woman who was in the infectious diseases ward of a hospital in Poznań. From the beginning, her condition was severe. The patient was connected to a ventilator and kept in a pharmacological coma. The woman had serious health problems before. The first man to die from coronavirus infection was a 73-year-old. He died on March 13 – in a serious condition he was in a hospital in Wrocław and had comorbidities.
