New restrictions

As Prime Minister Morawiecki announced on Friday, the red zone will cover the entire country from Saturday, October 24.

Restaurants, bars and pubs will be closed and only takeaways and delivery will be allowed. The new restrictions will apply for the next two weeks, but may be extended.

– The limitation may be extended if at the end of the second week we do not notice a change in the number of infections or, worse, if this number grows – said the Prime Minister.

– According to specialists, (…) there are a lot of people in catering facilities on a small area. As a result, infections are frequent, and the mask is not used there; these rooms are poorly ventilated, he argued.

The prime minister also informed that activities would be suspended sanatoriums (with the possibility of completing the ongoing stays).

– We are also closing sanatoriums, apart from sanatoriums, which are now ending their stays. This is necessary, because 70 percent of people staying in sanatoriums are seniors over 60 – said Mateusz Morawiecki.

From Saturday, the organization will be banned throughout Poland – due to the red zone special events (weddings, consoles).

On Friday, the health ministry announced that laboratory tests confirmed coronavirus infection in another 13,632 people, 153 people died. This is the most daily infection since the epidemic began.
