Coronavirus in Peru: little influx of public at the start of third-dose vaccination for adolescents

Little influx of public is observed this Saturday in the immunization centers of Lima, at the beginning of vaccination of the third dose anticovid for adolescents from 12 to 17 years old, established by the Ministry of Health (minsa).

A team of RPP News toured various vaccination centers in Lima this morning, finding few people lining up to enter.

Our reporter arrived at the Huiracocha zonal park vaccination center, in San Juan de Lurigancho (SJL), where there was hardly a small queue, most of them parents accompanying their teenage children.

Third dose to adolescents

As of this Saturday, March 26, began vaccination of the third dose against COVID-19 children between 12 and 17 years of age in all immunization centers in the country.

“The third dose will be applied against the COVID-19 children 12 to 17 years of age five months after receiving the second dose. This means that the boys who were vaccinated in October are now eligible to receive the third dose in March,” the head of Immunizations at the Ministry of Health told Andina. Maria Elena Martinez.

The official assured that the entire vaccination process will be intensified on a national scale, because “it is the only thing that can save us if there is a next wave.”
