Coronavirus: in New York, authorities recommend wearing masks during sex

The New York City Department of Health has issued several guidelines regarding sex in times of Covid-19. Where it is also advisable to be “creative with sexual positions and physical barriers.”

With more than 112,000 deaths from the coronavirus, the United States is the country in the world hardest hit by the pandemic. Enough to encourage health authorities to publish numerous recommendations to inform the public of the measures to be taken. This is what the New York City Department of Health did, so the people of the Big Apple could have safe sex, reveals CNN.

The document thus advises to protect oneself during the act with the help of a mask, the virus being propagated by the saliva and the breathing, and to be “creative”.

“Be creative with sexual positions and physical barriers, like walls, that allow sexual contact while preventing face-to-face contact,” suggests the guide, which details many steps, from group sex to outdoor sex.

“You are your safest sex partner”

Another important point, the authorities recommend having sex with close people. For those who want adventures outside their circle, the department stresses the importance of monitoring symptoms of the coronavirus, and getting tested frequently, at least once a month.

“You are your safest sexual partner,” add health authorities, recalling in passing that people 65 years and over are more at risk.

Finally, the authorities insist that if traces of the virus have been found in human semen, no study to date has proven that contamination through sexual intercourse is possible.

In the United States, New York is not the only state to have taken this problem of sexual relations seriously in these times of pandemic. CNN lists similar initiatives in the states of Washington, Oregon and Texas.
