Coronavirus in Lviv has antibiotic resistance

In the Lviv Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital, there is a difficult situation with patients with coronavirus. This is due to the fact that all the places in the medical facility are already occupied. In addition, doctors complain that the virus has become resistant to antibiotics, so there is a lack of antiviral drugs.

He also noted that in the medical institution there are mainly seriously ill people of young and middle age. They have pulmonary insufficiency, bilateral pneumonia, as well as respiratory and cardiovascular insufficiency.

The majority of patients are in grave condition. Every day 5-7 people are discharged from the hospital and new patients who need intensive treatment are brought in their place.

“In addition, we are now seeing the development of diabetes against the background of previously unknown signs of COVID-19. People have severe neuropathies. That is, pain in the lower extremities is felt, numbness of the upper extremities occurs,” the doctor said.

According to him, such symptoms and consequences were not observed before. This suggests that the virus is mutating and becoming more aggressive.
