Coronavirus in Italy – lifting restrictions on visitors from some countries

In mid-May, quarantine restrictions will be lifted for arriving travelers from European countries, the UK and Israel, and in June for travelers from the United States. This is necessary in order to revive the tourism industry.

Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said authorities are ready to ease restrictions on countries with high vaccination rates

“We are working to end the ‘mini-quarantine’ for people arriving from European countries, the UK and Israel if they have a negative test or have recovered from COVID in the last 6 months. The same applies to the US,” Mayo said. …

People entering Italy from other European countries and Israel are currently facing five days of quarantine and mandatory testing both before arrival and at the end of the isolation period.

For travelers arriving from the United States, the mandatory quarantine period is 10 days.
