35,737 new cases of Covid the week of May 3: further decrease of 14%

35,737 new cases of Covid were detected in Ile-de-France the week of April 26, against 41,594 the previous week (consolidated figures from Public Health France as of May 16). The decline continues but more slowly, with a decrease of 14% against 26% last week.

Warnings:
1 ° the data for the week of May 10 only concern the first 4 days for the moment.
2 ° The data of the positive tests of the same week vary slightly from one week to another because it takes several weeks for the figures to be completely consolidated, which is why we specify each time the date of consolidation of the data .

Monday’s peak down sharply

Regarding the week of May 10, the partial data available on May 16 again suggests a decrease, with less than 20,000 cases against just over 27,000 new cases the previous week. Monday’s peak drops sharply again, from 9,230 to 7,673, to the mid-February level. It peaked at over 18,000 on March 29. Since the start of the screening statistics, there has been a peak on Monday because there are fewer tests carried out on weekends.

1.4 million positive tests in Ile-de-France since May 2020

In total, 1,400,880 positive cases for Covid-19 were registered in the region between May 13, 2020 and May 12, 2021, including 533,371 in 2020 and 867,509 in 2021, according to data from Public Health France consolidated as of May 16.

Positivity rate by municipality

At the national level, the 7-day rolling positivity rate (therefore slightly different from the day-to-day positivity rate is 4.4% at the national level, a further decrease compared to last week (5.5).

The incidence rate drops to 225 cases per 100,000 inhabitants

In the Ile-de-France region, the incidence rate of Covid-19 positive people per 100,000 inhabitants, which had already reached 300 last week, has fallen to 225. For 3 weeks, it has fallen below of the peak of the second wave (525 at the beginning of November). Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne, Val d’Oise and Paris remain above the Ile-de-France average while decreasing.

In detail, the incidence rate decreases in all departments, between 20% and 28%. The incidence rate in Ile-de-France nevertheless remains significantly higher than the national rate which has fallen to 142.
