Coronavirus in Ciechocinek. The patients were quarantined

Ciechocinek Health Resort issued a statement confirming the detection of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in one of the patients. 300 people were quarantined. Swabs were also taken for examination.

The authorities of the Health Resort Hospital No. IV informed that after confirming the infection, the facility was immediately isolated and employees and patients will be tested for the presence of coronavirus.

Patients stay in their rooms where meals are served. All scheduled treatments were also suspended.

“We would like to inform you that we have one confirmed case of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection in a sanatorium in Ciechocinek in the Aleksandrów poviat. This person was transferred to the isolatory in Grudziądz” – emphasized Jarosław Jakubowski, advisor to the voivode.

He added that employees and other patients, about 300 people, were placed under quarantine. Some are in quarantine in the sanatorium building, others at home.

“Swabs for molecular tests were collected from all people. We are waiting for the results” – added the voivode’s advisor.

The hospital emphasized that all necessary precautions had been taken since the sanatoriums were restored. Guests had a mandatory coronavirus test right after their arrival.

The Health Resort’s statement also contained a reminder about the sanitary regime in force in connection with the coronavirus pandemic and appeal to patients to follow the rules.
