Undersecretary Arturo Zúñiga gave an account of 1,566 new infections of Covid-19 and a total of 39 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
With these figures, deceased reached 10,178, while infections exceeded 376,000 cases.
Of the 1,566 new cases, 1,061 of them are with symptoms, 424 asymptomatic and 81 of them were not notified. In total, there are 16,897 active cases and 349,541 recovered cases.
“In the last 14 days, the variation of confirmed cases in Chile has decreased by 11 percent, the number of positive tests for today is 1,611, with a percentage of PCR positivity of 5 percent for the Metropolitan Region and a PCR of 7 percent nationally, that is, far from the 40 percent we had at the maximum of viral expression“, said the Minister of Health, Enrique Paris.
In addition, there are currently 1,268 hospitalized, 211 of them in critical condition, while there are 570 ventilators available and 10,839 places available in healthcare residences.

Step by step: This Wednesday the situation of Santiago and Central Station is evaluated
Within the framework of the “Step by step” plan of deconfinement, This Wednesday the quarantine situation in Santiago and Estación Central will be evaluated, whose authorities have expressed concern about the high level of floating population.
The Undersecretary of Public Health, Paula Daza, said that in these communes “the floating population is very important, therefore, as we do on Wednesdays, we are going to analyze the situation of these two communes to see if they can continue advancing in the ‘Step by step'”.
“It is a job that we do with the other ministries, the Ministry of Transport,” he added.
