Angel Kunchev
We are entering the most active phase of the fourth wave of COVID-19, said to journalists the chief state health inspector Angel Kunchev, quoted by BTA during his participation in a health forum. He expects that peak morbidity rates will be reached in October. The fact that there are nearly 3,000 patients and the number of deaths is growing is worrying, Kunchev added.
We are not in very rapid growth, as observed in Romania and Hungary, but we are obviously not in the plateau we expected, so this month we will reach maximum levels and then it is expected to be normal, he continued.
Anti-epidemic measures are still in place, and after Gabrovo, local measures are being taken in Ruse, Kunchev said. According to him, it is not surprising that the number of sick children is increasing, as the circulation, which is present in the society, is also brought to the schools.
According to Kunchev, the circulation of the virus among students is lower. Confirmations continue to be received that Delta infects young people and is more easily transmitted, which is why the number of those infected is increasing. As a course, it is not so much more severe, but rather affects more people. There are still places in hospitals, even in the most affected regions.
