At the moment it is not necessary to impose an evening class in Sofia – this was said in the morning block of BNT by the director of the Sofia Health Inspectorate Dancho Penchev, after it became known yesterday that tightening measures are being considered due to increased cases and pressure on Sofia hospitals.
“We are facing the situation from the end of October and the beginning of November last year, but here things are developing faster. The situation is very serious,” Penchev said. According to him, a careful assessment should be made of the capabilities of each hospital in terms of bed capacity, structure, staff, so RHI-Sofia approaches each medical institution individually. “The pressure is very serious, the dynamics are very high, because both people brought by ambulance and people who reach on their own or are sent by general practitioners are hospitalized,” he explained.

“The proposals are concrete, clear, come at a certain time and are for a certain time, we are closely monitoring the situation. We have a great desire to stop the virus like a magic wand, but unfortunately it finds new forms,” said the director of SRZI. According to him, it is not necessary to close the entrances and exits of the city.
In the capital’s hospitals there are children’s covid departments in “Pirogov”, “St. Anna”, the Pediatric Hospital. There are also neonatology beds for newborns, because there are quite a few mothers with coronavirus, Penchev added.
