Coronavirus in Brazil. Over 33,000 new cases during the day

Brazil has seen 33,057 new cases of coronavirus infections and a further 739 deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, Brazil’s health ministry said.

Brazil’s health ministry reported 33,057 new cases of the coronavirus and a further 739 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, reported on Saturday (September 19).

The largest country in South America, with a population of approximately 210 million, has been reported to have over 4.5 million cases of coronavirus infection and more than 136,000 deaths since the start of the pandemic, according to government figures.

Brazil is the third most affected coronavirus in the world after the United States and India by number of infections. However, it ranks second after the US in terms of the number of deaths.

Mexico’s ministry of health, in its report on Saturday, noted 5,167 new infections and 455 deaths from COVID-19.

Mexico has 694,121 confirmed coronavirus cases and 73,258 COVID-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
