Lhe spread of the coronavirus continues in Belgium, the numbers are increasing sharply. On Friday, 558 new infections were counted in Belgium, for a total of 2,815, announced on Saturday the Crisis Center and the FPS Public Health. 30 new deaths are to be deplored, for a total of 67. This figure relates only to the cases analyzed, it does not therefore reflect the exact number of people infected.
Speakers said at their press conference that they were not surprised by these figures. They are already warning: the increase will continue in the coming days. We will therefore have to wait a few days or weeks to measure the impact of government measures on the spread of the virus.

Situation under control in hospitals
299 new hospitalizations have also been recorded in the last 24 hours, which brings the balance sheet to more than 1,000 people hospitalized. And 74 new patients are in intensive care, for a total of 238.
In Flanders this brings the number to 292, in Wallonia to 200 people, in Brussels it is 50 people. Data still needs to be consolidated for 16 other people affected by the virus.
It is important to note that 58 people were also able to return home. Between March 13 and March 20, 1,127 patients with covid-19 entered the hospital and 263 people were later discharged.
Experts said, however, that the situation in hospitals is currently under control and that many beds are still available in intensive care.
